Southern Star Amusement Appoints Dan Kyle to Chief Financial Officer

Southern Star Amusement, Inc. (SSA) today announced the appointment of former Louisiana Legislative Auditor Dan Kyle as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.  Kyle will lead SSA's Finance and Administration team, oversee all company accounting practices, direct its financial strategy, and prepare SSA's budgets, financial reports, taxes and audits.  The announcement was made by Danny Rogers, SSA founder, to whom Kyle will report.

"Dan is a well-respected, recognized Louisiana accounting and auditing professional and a welcome addition to Southern Star," said Rogers.  "As the company moves forward with various projects, Dan will keep all financial aspects on track.  He is a great asset for us."

Kyle is a seasoned Certified Public Accountant who served as Louisiana's Legislative Auditor for 14 years. During this time, he pioneered joint audits and investigations between Louisiana Legislative Auditor's Office and several federal agencies, reorganized the structure of the Legislative Auditor's Office to become more cost effective, initiated executive summaries of audit reports for Legislative Members, implemented a statewide computer network, and introduced professional certification programs for Legislative Auditor's Office that resulted in 75% of the staff becoming certified public accountants.

Most recently, Kyle ran his own consulting firm in which he helped accumulate costs for firms on Hurricane Katrina Activities for FEMA reimbursement, assisted with cost allocations in class action lawsuits for attorneys and implemented software for private corporations.  He also taught governmental accounting and auditing for 23 years at Louisiana State University, and served on the University Senate, Board of Public Administration and several College of Business committees.

Kyle is a published author and a recipient of many industry honors, and serves on several Louisiana boards and committees. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and a M.B.A. from the University of Arkansas, and received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Southern Arkansas University.
